Feeling a flutter of nerves before an interview? You’re not alone. Since 2013, we’ve felt the same excitement every time we meet a new candidate for Norliga. Our goal is always to find the right people to join our family, whether it’s a talented developer, a UX wizard, a marketing genius, or an account executive.
We take a unique approach to hiring—informal and straightforward. We strive to make the process as relaxed as possible to help calm those butterflies for both you and us.
We’re proud to say that nearly all our earliest hires are still with us, though naturally, a few have moved on to pursue new adventures.
Years of working with amazing people have taught us that transparency is key to welcoming new members to Team Norliga. That’s why we like to lay out what you can expect if you spot a role that catches your eye and decide to apply.
We receive many applications, including unsolicited ones, which is fantastic. It does mean, however, that we do some homework to identify candidates who stand out. We start by reviewing profiles and selecting those who seem like a good fit for a quick introductory call. This call is typically with the team leader responsible for the open position.
It’s a chance for both of us to make a great first impression. We’ll discuss your relevant skills, experiences, and what draws you to Norliga. On your end, you’ll learn more about who we are and whether we seem like an exciting match for you. Feel free to ask any questions you have—we’re happy to answer.
If your initial call goes well, you’ll be invited to a practical test session. This will typically consist of tasks prepared by the team you’re hoping to join. Don’t worry—it’s not an exam, and there’s no need to stress. The test includes a few practical challenges that you’ll have about two hours to complete, but you can take additional time if needed. The goal is not to evaluate you under pressure but to get a sense of your practical skills and approach to problem-solving.
The purpose of this test is to assess your hands-on development skills and help us prepare for the upcoming interview. We’re more interested in how you tackle the tasks rather than the final outcome. We believe that with the right mindset and approach, any problem can be solved. That’s why we focus on your practical understanding of code and your potential for growth.
Don’t be surprised if you’re invited for a quick meeting with the company’s founder. This is a great opportunity to ask more team-specific and responsibility-related questions directly to your potential future leader.
You may also find yourself in a team interview with the team leader and a few other members from the department where you’ll potentially be working. Since we are a practical, hands-on company, much of the discussion will focus on real-world skills and practical details.
We look forward to getting to know you better and hope you’ll find Norliga to be the perfect place for your next adventure!
While we value experience and real-world skills, we place greater emphasis on practical knowledge and demonstrated abilities than on formal credentials. There is a significant difference between theory and practice, and we look for candidates who can bridge that gap effectively.
We view employment as a long-term commitment, much like a partnership. For us, a great company is not defined by its buildings or facilities but by the people who make it thrive. Finding the right people is critical to our success, which is why we take the hiring process seriously.
Please note that for certain roles, especially those involving financial technologies, a security background check may be required. This ensures that candidates meet the necessary clearance levels for tasks with heightened security needs.
